It’s back-to-school time for homeschoolers and public school families alike.
I remember the first few years I started teaching my kids at home I was surprised how much less it cost to equip our school room, also know as the dining room.
The best part was that our official school uniforms were pajamas and the teacher could take a nap when the students did.
While I teach my kids at home, I admire and respect the job done by teachers in public and private schools. My stepmom and sister both have teaching degrees. My sister just completed her Master’s!
Now you can help students and teachers at your favorite school.
Macy’s is giving one school $25,000 for a classroom makeover. (It doesn’t have to be a public school, but it does have to have tax-exempt status.)
I voted for the Moss-Nuckles Elementary School in Louisa, Virginia.
Louisa is an adorable Mayberry of a town recently hit hard by the August 23 earthquake the measured 5.8 on the Richter scale. Moss-Nuckles will be picking up many of the students displaced by the destruction of Thomas Jefferson Elementary School.
That’s my vote–you can vote for your own favorite.
