I tested out a Victoria Jackson® product bundle over the last month. I was sent a Foundation Duo in Light, a bottle of Gentle Eye & Face Make Up Remover, and The Victoria Jackson Survival Kit™.IMG_3340

I’d seen the survival kit before, and heard it called the “Swiss army knife” of cosmetic kits. It really has all the color cosmetics you’d need for either a natural daytime face or a more dramatic nighttime look.

The Survival Kit has everything—ten eye shadows, five lip colors, two blush colors, as well as a teeny mascara and two diminutive pencils: one for eyes and one for lips. Three tiny brushes are included, but I preferred using either my own full-sized brushes or even my very clean fingers.

I packed this for my recent trip to Nashville for the BAM Conference, a blogging conference for midlife women. I was completely satisfied with using the cosmetics while out of town. It had everything I needed, and then some. This has earned a place in my luggage when I travel, replacing a much larger bag of color cosmetics.

The Gentle Eye and Face Make Up Remover is a non-oily liquid that did a good job removing my face makeup and my eye makeup. I only tested it on regular-wear mascara, so I can’t say how it would work on waterproof eye makeup. It was indeed gentle and easy on my regular makeup. It was clear and unscented, didn’t bother my eyes at all, and didn’t have any reaction with my sensitive skin, even my eyelids. I’d buy this again.

I was surprised I was most please with the Foundation Duo. I thought it would just be a run-of-the-mill crème foundation, but I really loved it. Because each half of the compact is a slightly different shade, you can combine the two to get a good match to your skin tone and also highlight and contour a little bit.

The Foundation Duo gave a very natural skin look while at the same time giving good coverage to my ruddiness. I set it with a little of my own powder and got long-lasting coverage. It did settle into my eye wrinkles by the end of the day, but I have oily skin there and ALL foundation does that to me. A quick blot with a clean finger blended it back perfectly. I would definitely buy this again.

Here’s my face with the Foundation Duo and the Survival Kit. No filters or editing of any sort. Just a quick snap with my phone. I liked that it looks soft and natural, looking like me just a little fresher.Yes, I am a 45-year-old woman in a Schoolhouse Rock tshirt. IMG_3635
